Well, our first trip of 2010 was on sunday march 7th, the seas were kind and the 50 degree temps were a nice change of pace from this long winter. This trip was an exploritory one, just taking a look around to see what we could catch and where they were lurking. Plenty of Nice 6 to 12 lb cod around, and they were hitting everything we threw at them as soon as our hooks made it to the bottom. All the fish had to be released due to the Cod Season not opening untill April 15th, but it sure is a good sign that there are so many hungry Cod out there for the taking. Haddock were a little harder to come by, so Akula will be back out later in the week heading further out into deeper water where they most likely are.
